Here is the latest on DAPA (Deferred Action for Parents of Americans). The executive order issued by President Obama is going to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court with a decision in June. The U.S. House has voted 234-186 to file an amicus brief in opposition. Oral arguments are set to begin April 18th. The U.S. house believes that President Obama overstepped his authority by his executive order under the Constitution. The U.S. house believes that it is their authority to make laws, not the executive branch (President).

Opposition to this brief believes they are wasting tax payer money and believes they are playing partisan politics. If the Supreme Court deems the States have jurisdiction to bring the case, I believe it will boil down to a constitutional question. After oral arguments on April 18th, we should have a better understanding of how the Supreme Court is leaning. I will bring more updates in the months to come.
