About James Warner

James M. Warner is a family law attorney, dedicating his legal career to standing beside individuals and families during the most challenging chapters of their lives. Mr. Warner believes that any family law matter – whether it is a divorce or affects the parent-child relationship (child custody, possession and support) – is a deeply personal experience. Thus, Mr. Warner listens to the individual concerns of the client, adopting and implementing a trial strategy that is the most effective in r reaching the client’s goals, and serving the needs of his or her family.

James M. Warner has a diverse body of experience, navigating the Texas courts in both private practice, and public service as a Managing Assistant Attorney General (Child Support Division). Since his State Bar of Texas licensing in 1998, Mr. Warner has not only developed expertise in securing successful verdicts for Texas families in the courtroom, but in negotiating resolution of high-conflict divorces and child custody matters. Mr. Warner believes saving client funds and reducing the strain on the family from protracted litigation is value-added to his legal services, so he is devoted to anticipating the other side’s position, thorough client preparation, and presenting the case in the most compelling light.

Having practiced throughout the State of Texas, Mr. Warner developed a reputation for zealous advocacy in establishing paternity and child possession orders that are in the best interest of the child, dividing property, examining financial records and tracing funds, modifying and enforcing child support and possession orders, reimbursement claims, interstate matters, and other family law concerns requiring attention to detail and clear, concise client communication. Mr. Warner enjoys reducing complex legal concepts and problems to common sense, plain terms; therefore, the client is truly connected to his or her case plan. He is accessible, maintaining close contact with the client.

Mr. Warner is a 1993 graduate of the University of Texas in San Antonio (summa cum laude), and enjoys community service, studying history, and the outdoors. Additionally, he has a passion for making clients feel heard, respected and recognized.
